Master Layouts 4 Card Tutorial | Stenciling Over Die Cuts

If you love finding new ways to stretch your cardmaking supplies, today’s project is a fun one! In this Master Layouts 4 card tutorial, I’m combining the Gina K. Designs Master Layouts 4 dies with a creative stenciling over die cuts technique to create a layered card panel with lots of visual interest.

For this card, I used the scalloped and heart dies from Master Layouts 4 to create my layered panel. After die-cutting and assembling the pieces, I stamped over the die cuts and then added a layered stencil design directly over the top.

The result is a dimensional-looking background that has plenty of interest without requiring lots of additional layers or embellishments. I especially love how the stenciling extends across the different die-cut pieces, helping the individual elements come together as one cohesive design.

This is a great technique to try when you want to get more creative with your dies and stencils. It can also be adapted with different die shapes, stamps, colors, and stencil designs to create a variety of handmade card styles.

Watch the video below to see exactly how I created this card and how you can try the stenciling over die cuts technique for yourself.
